Join your friends and neighbors for our annual 5th of July Beach Cleanup! Volunteers will gather at 8 am Wednesday, July 5, to restore beauty to the AIP beach by picking up the “remains” of the 4th of July celebration. The 50th Anniversary Task Force is gathering memorabilia from the early years of Amelia Island Plantation and needs your help. This includes pictures, newspaper or magazine articles, bulletins, maps, posters, etc. If you are willing to loan or donate items to the Task Force, please bring them to the AIPCA office at 5542 First Coast Highway, Suite 300, by Friday, June 30. Mary Duffy will discuss the nesting and hatching process, the threats faced by nesting sea turtles and their hatchlings, and the work done by AISTW to support and monitor sea turtle nesting on the island.
