 How to Enjoy Walker’s Landing

From residents to wedding guests, everyone loves Walker’s Landing. Learn more about the convenience of a spot to launch — as well as store — kayaks and canoes, the invaluable Indigenous history preserved here, as well as the indoor and outdoor venue spaces that make events at Walker’s Landing feel organically elegant.

Walker’s Landing park

Walker’s Landing is a 7-acre park located off Marsh Creek Road on a promontory looking west over an expanse of salt marsh and the Amelia River/Intracoastal Waterway.

Park amenities include picnic tables, outdoor grills, nature trails, boat ramp, dock, kayak storage, public restrooms, and an outdoor shower. There is also an event facility at the site; use of the building is by reservation only.

All park amenities are open and available to the community from sunrise to sunset daily, including when the event facility is in use. Community members may host gatherings/events in the park; however, you may not reserve any area or prevent others from enjoying the park at the same time.

Please place all trash in appropriate receptacles. Dogs are not permitted to run loose and must be kept on a leash. Owner is responsible for the removal and disposal of pet waste.

Indian Mound

The Indian Mound is a burial site and a sacred location in the Timucuan Indian Heritage. Excavations have revealed that ancestors of this society lived on Amelia Island as far back as 3500 BC. Please stay behind the barrier and respect this sacred location.

Boating and fishing

Three gangways extend into Walker’s Creek and include a boating platform with tie downs, a small fishing platform, and a state-of-the-art kayak launch. There is a fish cleaning station with running water along the bulkhead near the picnic area. Licenses are required to fish in both fresh and salt waters in Florida. They may be purchased online or locally at Nassau County Tax Collector offices.

The boat ramp can accommodate boats up to 20 feet. Boats may be docked overnight only with advance notification to Security & Public Safety.

Kayak & canoe storage

Community members may enjoy the convenience of storing their kayaks and canoes at one of AIPCA’s three storage racks. There is access to the Intracoastal Waterway at our Walker’s Landing storage facility, while the racks at Wild Grape and Laurel Oak are adjacent to Red Maple Lake.

All storage racks are outdoors and uncovered. The annual cost is $250 per storage slip from January to December. Rentals must be renewed every year. Contact AIPCA at (904) 491-9850 or info@aipca.net for more information.
