Amelia Island Plantation celebrating 50th anniversary in 2024
On a site once destined to be a strip mine, a visionary landscape architect and an innovative developer had a vision 50 years ago for a new kind of community. Ever since, Amelia Island Plantation has remained the standard for a community in harmony with nature.
AIPCA is planning a yearlong celebration in 2024 of all that is special about this place and the people — past and present — who have shaped its history. We are excited to celebrate our 50th anniversary and we’re planning a meaningful and lasting tribute to our community’s history as we look toward the future.
Get ready for a year filled with celebratory activities, events, and programs that will encompass the whole AIP community, including the Amelia Island Club, Omni Amelia Island Resort, Osprey Village, Amelia Plantation Chapel, and the Plantation Artists’ Guild & Gallery.

Culmination Day November 9
Culmination Day on Saturday, November 9, will bring our yearlong celebration of AIP’s 50th anniversary to an amazing end. Join us for two events, the first exploring this incredible place, and the
second bringing community members of all ages together for a fantastic concert and a spectacular, never-before-seen-in-AIP drone show.
Both events are free to our community members with no registration required.
11 am AIP Scavenger Hunt
Calling out intrepid explorers and history buffs — have we got an event for you! The AIP Scavenger Hunt will take participants all through AIP — from north to south and east to west — as you explore community landmarks and history.
Using a mobile app and a property map, participants will solve brain teasers to get to various locations around AIP where teams will work to earn points by capturing photos of themselves performing tasks and relaying the answers creatively.
The day will begin with a team gathering at 11 am in The Oaks parking lot where the emcee will go over the rules before the teams begin the scavenger hunt.
We’ll announce the first, second, and third place winners the Golden Finale.
3:30 pm Golden Finale Concert & Drone Show
AIP loves a party and we’ve got a great one planned for Culmination Day — a fantastic free concert on the grounds of the Omni Amelia Island’s Little Sandy Short Course followed by an awesome drone show celebrating AIP.
Event parking will be at The Oaks, where we will have trolleys providing transportation to and from Little Sandy. Walking and biking are also great ways to get the event. Seating will be available on the course.
The Golden Finale will kick off at 3:30 pm with AIPCA’s annual Veterans Day salute. This will be followed by a dynamic concert from O-Town Motown. Get ready for a trip down memory lane as O-Town Motown brings to life the many great artists and unforgettable songs of the golden era of Motown, including the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, and Michael Jackson.
Attendees are welcome to bring food and beverages to the concert. A complimentary popcorn bar and lawn games will add to the festive atmosphere.
At dusk, our custom Sky Elements drone show will soar above Red Maple Lake and highlight in vivid colors some of the special elements that make AIP such a wonderful place to live.
You don’t want to miss this spectacular end to this special year!

This engaging visual chronicle of AIP’s past will be on display during regular museum hours, 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Saturday and 1-4 pm Sunday. If you are not a museum member, entrance to the museum is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (65+) and active military, and $5 for children and students (with valid ID).
